Boat & Crew:

Captain: Robert Theriault, pEng
Our Boat: Grand Banks 36′

The Grand Banks 36′ Trawler is built for life’s adventures with a proven combination of safety, reliability, comfort and confidence at sea. This sturdy 36 foot boat is designed for reduced roll in rough seas, but we will only go out weather permitting and if it is absolutely safe to do so. The boat has an indoor helm as well as a fly bridge for en-joying the scenery on nice days and will comfortably hold 12 passengers. The boat is equipped with two toilets for passenger comfort. Our trip from WhaleKum Inn to the chosen painting location for each day is approximately 30-40 minutes at a leisurely speed of 10 knots. Painting locations are remote, pristine anchorages near Mayne and Saturna Islands. We facilitate a unique plein air painting experience in secluded locations offering the beautiful and magical scenery of the Southern Gulf Islands. Once anchored at our location artists will be transported from the yacht to onshore with the assistance of our experienced and licensed crew onboard a motorized zodiac.

Robert our captain has been skippering yachts for the past 30 years in Australia, Europe and the West Coast of Canada. He is a certified international yacht skipper and has a valid First Aid certificate. Robert considers the safety of his passengers as a top priority and guarantees his passengers a safe and unforgettable experience.
